Symonds Yat Rock is an iconic viewpoint, only a short drive from Ross Town Centre. The surrounding woodland is managed by Forestry England, and offers 5 waymarked walking. One of these walks will take you across Biblins Bridge, from Symonds Yat East to West. Before being converted into a footbridge in 1924, it was used as a winch point for moving logs across the river.
You can enjoy a hot drink and snack at the Yat Rock cafe, which was orginally built in 1956 ahead of a visit from the Queen, open all week.
Cafe opening hours:
Monday to Friday from 9:30am to 4pm
Saturday and Sunday from 9am to 4pm
You could take a day canoe trip to Symonds Yat, or make the short drive to spend the day walking. There are lots of great attractions in the area including The Wye Valley Butterfly Zoo and King Arthur’s Cave.
Find more information about the parking facilities and Biblins Bridge open times on the Forestry Engalnd website.
