Hereford Cathedral – home to the Mappa Mundi, the largest medieval world map, and the Chained Library, which holds over 1,500 rare books – is located in the centre of Hereford on Cathedral Close.
The impressive building includes examples of architecture, stained glass and art from all periods which can be further explored with the knowledgeable onsite guides and volunteers. There are also many opportunities for visitors to experience the music of the cathedral with a range of concerts and
recitals taking place during the year. After a busy day, Evensong is a wonderful opportunity to listen to Hereford Cathedral Choir and find some peace and tranquillity.
Visitors to the cathedral can also choose from a selection of refreshments in the Cathedral Café and enjoy them in this unique historic space or relax outside in the beautiful Chapter House garden before visiting the Cathedral Shop for souvenirs or gifts.
